What Restaurants Charge for Champagne

Krug, Dom Pérignon, Cristal and nine more prestige cuvées, priced from current wine lists in London, New York and Sydney

ELID Data Desk | 2026-10-18

On a London restaurant wine list in 2026, a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée typically costs £395–£500, with a median of £420. Dom Pérignon typically costs £345–£500 (median £395), and Louis Roederer Cristal £490–£660 (median £550). The non-vintage house blends (Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve, Louis Roederer Collection, Bollinger Special Cuvée and Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé) usually cost £110–£200.

These figures come from the wine lists ELID tracks, not from producer price lists or estimates. Each list price below comes from a restaurant's current wine list, linked to the wine's ELID record. Medians are given with the middle half of prices (the interquartile range), so one trophy listing cannot skew the result. The method and its limits are set out at the end.

Is Krug more expensive than Dom Pérignon at restaurants?

It depends on the city. In London, Krug Grande Cuvée's median (£420) is above Dom Pérignon's (£395). In New York, Dom Pérignon's median ($580) is above Krug Grande Cuvée's ($508). Both wines sit below Cristal in every city where all three have enough listings.

The two wines are not like for like. Dom Pérignon is a vintage Champagne. Krug Grande Cuvée is a multi-vintage blend sold by numbered édition. See Krug Grande Cuvée éditions for the base year and composition of each édition.

How these prices were calculated

  • Source. Restaurant wine lists in ELID's database, as of 18 October 2026. A list counts only if it was captured within the previous 12 months. Each entry counts only if it is linked to the wine's ELID record with the same confidence threshold ELID's restaurant pages use. Entries naming a different bottling are excluded, for example a rosé, Plénitude, Clos or late-release version.
  • One price per restaurant. Only 750 ml bottles count. Where a restaurant lists several vintages or éditions of the same wine, the cheapest bottle is used. Implausibly low "bottle" entries, usually glass prices recorded without a size, are removed. A city appears in a table only when at least 6 restaurants list the wine.
  • Median and typical range. The median is the middle restaurant price. The typical range is the 25th to 75th percentile.
  • Taxes and service. UK and Australian list prices include VAT and GST. US list prices exclude sales tax and gratuity. Discretionary service charges are excluded everywhere.
  • Not offers. These are list prices at the time each list was captured. They are not current offers, and lists change frequently. Do not compare figures across currencies without accounting for tax and market differences.

Individual restaurant lists, with dates and sources, are on the restaurant wine lists pages.
