Production Details This was the first separate Vaulorent QC bottling. It came from the small Quatre Chemins parcel, described as the warmest part of Vaulorent, and was picked four days before the regular Vaulorent parcels. For the complete 2020 range, Piuze reported starting harvest on 22 August, using 12-hour static débourbage without temperature control, completing alcoholic and malolactic fermentations by 15 November, making a sulfur correction at filtration, and not degassing with nitrogen at bottling.
Tasting Notes John Gilman, November 2021: pear, apple, lemon, chalky minerality, iodine, beeswax, citrus blossom and vanillin-oak notes; full-bodied, focused, complex and vibrant. William Kelley, July 2022: citrus oil, preserved lemon, crisp Anjou pear, iodine and freshly baked bread; medium-to-full-bodied, satiny, layered, concentrated, racy and intensely saline.
