Production Details The Guarilihüe vineyard lies 22 km from the Pacific Ocean and was planted in 1982 without rootstock; it is goblet-trained, dry-farmed and planted at 4,440 vines per hectare. Hand-picked clusters were destemmed, and whole berries underwent spontaneous, semi-carbonic-style alcoholic fermentation in amphorae. Free-run and press wine were blended and matured through winter in amphorae; the wine was bottled in spring after completing malolactic fermentation.
Tasting Notes Violet-colored; floral and perfumed, with violets, fresh red and black fruit and spices; medium-bodied with fine, smooth tannins, fresh acidity, abundant fruit and a long finish.
