Production Details Vrede Chardonnay hails from a northeast-facing slope in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Vrede vineyard is 1.46 ha with low-vigour vines and yielded 3.18 t/ha, 22.5 hl/ha, and 0.49 kg/vine. Maturation: 228 litre, tight grain, French oak, 11 months - 31% 2024, 25% 2023, 25% 2022, 19% 2021. Release date April 2025. 365 cases (12) produced. Official vintage note: extreme south winds in September contributed to low yields, high rainfall created unusual disease pressure, and the wine shows lower-than-usual alcohol with fruit purity, length, and balance.
