Production Details 6Chen is a Chenin Blanc-based blend made from fruit sourced from old Swartland vineyards planted in 1978 (Muscat) and 1982 (Chenin). The blend is 92% Chenin Blanc with a small portion of Muscat d'Alexandrie (Hanepoot). After hand harvesting and selection, the fruit was transported in refrigerated trucks, cooled overnight to 5C, then processed in an intentionally oxidative style. Fermentation took place naturally with wild yeasts in a combination of concrete tanks, seasoned oak barrels, and untoasted oak barrels. The wine remained on the lees for six months after fermentation.
