Production Details Helderberg ward Stellenbosch red from VSP trellised vineyards protected from the South Easter. The site sits at 200m elevation with high soil water-holding capacity and high clay content generated from decomposed scale. Grapes were picked at optimal ripeness, cooled overnight to 4C, destemmed into open-top fermenters, fermented spontaneously, left on skins as long as possible, then pressed to small French oak barrels with 40% new oak for 18 months before blending and bottling.
