Production Details Official producer Syrah page displays the 2019 vintage label. Fruit came from three estate vineyard blocks on east-facing slopes with shale and clay soils: two Syrah blocks and one Mourvedre block. The trellised, irrigated vines were about 15 years old, with yields naturally low at 4 to 5 tonnes per hectare. Grapes were hand-picked into small crates at 22.5 to 23.5 degrees Balling. In the cellar, slightly crushed whole clusters were transferred by peristaltic mash pump into one-ton plastic fermenters. Spontaneous fermentation proceeded with no additions and morning punch-downs by foot. After fermentation, the tanks were sealed and the wine was macerated for about three weeks.
