Production Details Winter of 2022 provided sufficient rainfall and cold temperatures for good dormancy. August and September had unusually warm days that pushed budburst by about 10 days. Flowering conditions were favourable and a decent crop, similar in size to 2022, was set. Due to slightly drier soils during spring, the canopies were less vigorous, allowing good sun and wind penetration. In December, 102 mm of rain supplemented soil water contents nicely. The onset of veraison was slightly earlier as a result of the earlier onset of the season and the available soil water. January and the first half of February were cooler compared to 2022, and late February brought a sudden drop in temperatures and frequent rain. Most Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes were already in the winery by then. Made from a selection of vineyards found high up along the Groenlandberg, this wine is made to truly represent the vintage and terroir. Gentle winemaking, careful whole bunch inclusion, and a consistent approach to French oak maturation allow one to truly experience a wine grown in a very special place. New French oak complement is 32%.
