Production Details The 2022 vintage is characterized as a cool vintage with opulence and abundant fruit. A cold winter in 2021 and a cool growing season led to a late harvest. White grapes were picked on February 28, 2022, and red grapes on March 21, 2022. Red grape harvesting continued for four weeks, with the final blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon picked on April 19, 2022. The cool growing season resulted in slow and even ripening, beneficial for complex flavor precursors. Well-established vineyards with excellent root systems and dryland vineyards contributed to elegant and refined wines with richness, structure, and flavor concentration. The wine was matured for 19 months in 80% new and 20% second-fill 225 litre French oak barrels. It underwent very light filtration before bottling on December 12, 2023. No fining agents were used, and a harmless sediment may occur. This vintage is expected to age admirably for 10 to 15 years from harvest under correct cellaring conditions.
