Production Details Fruit from Sine Qua Non's four-acre Shea Vineyard section was transported in a refrigerated trailer to Ventura after harvest. Published production figures conflict: Walker Wine Co. Christie's renders the cooperage detail as “87 new & 13 used barrels,” without percent signs or a stated barrel type, so it cannot safely be normalized into oak percentages.
Tasting Notes At a tasting reported March 22, 2004, PinotFile described red fruit, oriental spice, developing complexity and a silky finish. Its September 15, 2008 vertical described an intense, substantial fruit profile with noticeable tannin, earth-dusted black cherry, and a woodsy, forest-floor finish.
