Production Details After pressing, the juice was consolidated in tank and transferred without cold settling to barrels with its fine lees. It fermented dry in barrel through naturally occurring yeasts, completed malolactic fermentation, matured in barrel for 11 months without bâtonnage, then spent three additional months in tank before bottling without fining or filtration. The proportion of new oak was described only as lower than for Kistler's other Chardonnay bottlings.
Tasting Notes Anna Lee C. Iijima: hazelnut skin and kernel, lemon and custard. James Suckling: sliced apple, spiced pear, reductive character, full body and pronounced phenolic tension.
