Grape Clone Pommard
Production Details Estate Pommard-clone fruit was exposed to smoke from the 2017 Eagle Creek fire; only the best blocks were picked and the most intriguing barrels bottled. Production quantity is internally conflicting: the specialist review header lists 1,281 cases, while its body says only 181 cases were bottled; the producer's release page independently states 181 cases. The limited release carried a commemorative copper-embossed Douglas Fir label.
Tasting Notes Producer release description: smooth, with intense smoke and tobacco flavors. Prince of Pinot, February 2020: light ruby; red cherry and berry aromas with guaiacol/smoke; light, gossamer palate with red fruit, smoky undertones and minimal tannins.
