Production Details Matured for 22 months in barrels comprising 18% 600-liter vessels, 43% 300-liter vessels, and 39% 228-liter vessels; 20% of the oak was new.
Tasting Notes Falstaff tasting, 2013-10-16: deep dark ruby-garnet with purple reflections; black berries, flint, nougat, damp undergrowth, ripe plum and mineral notes; powerful fruit, red-berry confit, firm tannins, forest floor and a dark-mineral finish. Loren Sonkin tasting, 2020-12-16: purple with a ruby rim; black cherry, earthy funk, dust and spice, followed by raspberry, black raspberry, light tannins, earth, char and a long finish.
