Production Details Twenty-one percent whole clusters were used, limited to the Grenache component. Final-release reporting states 21% new French oak, mostly larger demi-muids, with the remainder in used French barrels. Earlier pre-release winemaker notes projected around 20 months in barrel; this approximate projection is not converted to aging_days. Wine Spectator reported 778 cases made.
Tasting Notes Robert Parker/Wine Advocate: berry fruit, kirsch, lavender and floral notes; full-bodied, voluptuous and pure. James Suckling: blackberry, blueberry, flowers and minerals with silky tannins. Wine Spectator: red currant, raspberry, boysenberry, pepper and spice; rich, layered and focused.
