Production Details Non-vintage blend of white-grape wines grown mainly on the upper slopes of the Douro Valley. The individual wines mature separately in oak vats for about three years before blending and bottling. Taylor’s recommends serving it at 6–10°C. The current specialist-vendor listing identifies the ingredients as grapes, wine spirit, tartaric acid (E334) and sulfur dioxide (E220).
Tasting Notes Rich and fragrant, with mellow fruit, honey and oak; the importer additionally identifies peach, nectarine, lime, jasmine, cherry blossom, liquorice, vanilla and butterscotch. Full-bodied, balanced and velvety, with a long harmonious finish.
Food Pairing Serve chilled as an aperitif with salted almonds, olives or charcuterie; alternatively serve over ice with tonic or soda, lemon and fresh mint.
