Production Details Made from selected dry white Ports produced from Douro Superior grapes. Fortifying grape spirit is added later than for other Ports, after much of the grape sugar has converted to alcohol, producing unusual dryness. The component wines mature separately in oak vats for four to five years and are blended shortly before bottling. The wine is ready to drink, requires no decanting and should be served at 6–10°C. Kobrand also reports acidity of 4.5 g/L but does not specify whether this is total acidity or its acid-equivalent basis.
Tasting Notes Pale straw colour; delicate fresh-fruit fragrances with mellow aromas and hints of oak; fresh, lively palate with good flavour and a crisp, dry finish.
Food Pairing Serve chilled as an aperitif, accompanied by salted almonds or olives; it may also be served over ice with tonic and fresh mint.
