Production Details The wine is assembled from cask-aged Ports of different vintages with an average age of 20 years. Kobrand describes piston-fermenter extraction, fermentation stopped through the addition of grape spirit, and average maturation in neutral oak. Taylor’s says the wine is fully matured in seasoned oak in its Oporto lodges. Vessel capacity differs slightly by source: Taylor’s states about 630 L, while Kobrand states 600 L, so no exact barrel_size is proposed. Kobrand also lists acidity as 5.3 g/L without identifying the analytical basis, so it is not proposed as total_acidity_gl. The wine is ready to drink, requires no decanting, should be stored upright away from light at a cool, constant temperature, and is recommended slightly chilled at 12–16°C.
Tasting Notes Intense amber-tawny colour; opulent and voluptuous nose with complex spicy, jammy and nutty aromas, hints of orange flower and fine oak; very rich, concentrated palate with a long, mellow finish.
