Production Details Harvest began at Vargellas on 3 September, with very small berries and a high skin-to-juice ratio. Foot treading in lagares resumed after a two-year COVID interruption. It also states '98 grams of sugar' but provides no explicit per-litre or other analytical basis, so this is not proposed as residual_sugar_gl. Decant before serving; serve at 16–18°C.
Tasting Notes Deep purple-black; blackcurrant, cherry, woodland fruit, plum, citrus and quince; grapey freshness, violet, blossom and herbal notes; firm integrated tannins; balanced, clean berry-fruit finish.
Food Pairing Walnuts; blue-veined and other richly flavoured cheeses; dried apricots or figs

Tasting Notes Deep ruby-black; plum, citrus and quince; nutmeg, anise and cacao; jasmine, mint and resinous wild herbs; discreet minerality, taut tannins and fresh berry fruit.
Food Pairing Walnuts; blue-veined and other richly flavoured cheeses; dried apricots or figs

Harvest Dates Picking started at Quinta de Vargellas on 20 September 2012

Production Details Low vine vigour resulted in smaller berries and bunches and lower-than-usual yields. In mid-August the grapes remained low in sugar and high in acidity; these were grape measurements, not finished-wine analyses. Decant before serving; serve at 16–18°C.
Tasting Notes Opaque ruby-black; woodland fruit, wild herbs, gum cistus, vanilla, violets and blossom; vibrant berry fruit, lean wiry tannins, grip and harmonious balance.
Food Pairing Walnuts; blue-veined and other richly flavoured cheeses; dried apricots or figs
