Production Details Maceration continues during fermentation to extract colour, tannin and aromas. The wine is aged for two decades in old 640 L oak barrels; the Tawny components remain in cask until the final blend. IVDP confirms that age-indicated Tawny is a blend of wines from several years, supporting NVXX rather than a harvest-vintage code. General IVDP service guidance for Tawny-style Port is 10–14°C.
Tasting Notes Classic old-Tawny colour with golden highlights; dried-fruit and almond bouquet; velvety and concentrated palate; lingering, elegant and robust finish
Food Pairing Suitable as an aperitif or digestif and at either the beginning or end of a meal; IVDP’s category guidance pairs 20-year Tawny with rich egg-based desserts, strong or hard cheeses, and coffee
