Production Details Non-vintage blend of old Ports from different harvest years, averaging 20 years of age. The component wines mature oxidatively in used 640 L oak casks called cascos before blending and bottling; fermentation is stopped by adding grape spirit. Serve at 10–14°C; no decanting is needed, and the producer recommends drinking it within about three months after opening while storing it cool. The importer reports acidity of 5.3 g/L but does not state its analytical basis.
Tasting Notes Amber with golden highlights; dried almonds and walnuts, brandied cherries and salted caramel; pure, balanced and complex.
