Production Details This is a non-vintage blend averaging three and a half years of age. Fruit comes from low-yielding Cima Corgo vineyards with vines stated to be over 30 years old, planted at 4,000 vines/ha and trained by Guyot and Royat. Hand-picked grapes are predominantly foot-trodden in lagares before maturation in small old-oak casks at Vila Nova de Gaia. The sheet additionally reports dry extract 125.10 g/L, volatile acidity 0.50 g/L, Baumé 3.40, volumetric mass 1.0220 g/cm³, energetic value 621 kJ/100 mL and carbohydrates 10 g/100 mL.
Tasting Notes Brick-red/tawny colour; delicate nuts and dried fruit; balanced, youthful and luscious fruit; long, spirituous finish.
Food Pairing Chocolate desserts; pâtés or foie gras; it may also be served slightly chilled as an aperitif.
