Production Details Tawny Dee comes from low-yielding Cima Corgo vineyards with vines over 30 years old, planted at 4,000 vines/ha and trained by Guyot and Royat. The non-vintage wine has an average age of three and a half years and matures in small old oak casks at Niepoort's Vila Nova de Gaia lodges. The current 75 cl technical record also reports dry extract 124.90 g/L, Baumé 3.40, volatile acidity 0.20 g/L and volumetric mass 1.0200 g/cm³.
Tasting Notes Brick-red/tawny colour; delicate nut and dried-fruit aromas; balanced, youthful and luscious fruit character; long spirit-driven finish.
Food Pairing Nuts and nut-based desserts; apple pie and other fruit tarts; crème brûlée or crème caramel; Manchego, smoked Gouda and Gruyère.
