After a hot, dry summer, the grapes arrived healthy but somewhat ripe; the resulting densely coloured wines were considered suitable for long ageing. Fermentation occurred in lagares with foot treading. The wine matured in casks and demijohns; the producer's tasting text says it spent only four years in casks before transfer to demijohns. Finished-wine measurements also include dry extract 130.80 g/dm³, Baumé 3.60, volatile acidity 0.38 g/dm³ and density 1.0230 g/cm³.
Tasting Notes Youthful vibrant dark-cherry colour developing an amber hue; slightly fruity, with tobacco and delicate candied-fruit notes; fresh and vibrant palate balancing sweetness and acidity, delicate berries, and a long smooth finish.

Production Details Vineyard density was 4,000 vines/ha, with Guyot and Royat training and manual harvesting. A long, cold winter and relatively cool spring and early summer were followed by warmer September weather, so the harvest generally began late and fully ripe fruit yielded full-bodied wines in granite lagares with foot treading. Maturation took place in casks and demijohns. Finished-wine measurements also include dry extract 132.90 g/dm³, Baumé 3.70, volatile acidity 0.37 g/dm³ and density 1.0240 g/cm³.
Tasting Notes Dark amber core with a lighter rim; sharp and complex, with hazelnut, prune and spice notes; fresh acidity, elegance, balance, and a delicate, very long finish.
