Fermentation is stopped at the desired Baumé by adding grape brandy. The component wines mature in stainless steel and wood for at least three years. Vineyard rows include horizontal terraces and vinha ao alto plantings; elevation reaches up to 600 metres. Recommended serving temperature is 8–10°C.
