Production Details Fermented in stainless steel vats with skin maceration and agitation at 16–18°C; fermentation is arrested by adding grape brandy. Wines from different harvests are blended and matured in oak casks for variable periods, with the blend's average age defining the 20-year indication. Vineyards include across-slope terraces and some vinha ao alto plantings and reach up to 600 m; Skurnik additionally reports hand harvesting. Serving guidance conflicts by source: the producer technical sheet and current producer wine page specify 8–10°C, while the current 0.375 L Kopke Group Wine Shop SKU specifies 10–12°C.
Tasting Notes Bright amber-yellow with a golden rim; dried fruit, fig, walnut, toasted almond, candied orange peel and spice; elegant and balanced, with firm yet smooth tannins and a rich, prolonged finish
Food Pairing Serve as an aperitif or with foie gras, vol-au-vent, scallop gratin, mushroom risotto, crème brûlée, custard crêpe, spicy apple crumble, or blue cheese such as Stilton; it may also be served alone
