Production Details A non-vintage blend of wines from different harvests. Grapes macerate with their skins and are churned during fermentation in stainless-steel vats at 16–18°C; fermentation is stopped by adding grape brandy. The constituent wines mature in oak casks for variable periods, and their average age defines the 30-year label indication. Vineyard elevation is stated only as up to 600 metres. Recommended serving temperature is 8–10°C, and the producer advises consuming the wine within 2–4 months after opening.
Tasting Notes Vibrant yellow-straw colour; deep, rich aromas of walnut and dried fig; delicate, complex and velvety palate with polished, round tannins balancing the acidity; powerful, persistent finish
Food Pairing Aperitif; foie gras, vol-au-vent, scallop gratin or mushroom risotto; crème brûlée, custard-filled crepe or spicy apple crumble; blue cheese such as Stilton; or served alone
Critics Ratings Robert Parker: 94 points (2018); Wine Enthusiast: 94 points (2017); Wine Spectator: 92 points (2016)
