Production Details Special Vila Velha Edition is a limited bottling selected from the best Vila Velha wines; Charles Symington is named as winemaker. Quinta da Vila Velha is a 145-hectare riverside property with 55 hectares under vine. The 2022 producer sheet reports 3.65° Baumé and recommends serving at 14–16°C and consuming within 6 weeks after opening; the current producer page retains the 14–16°C range but says consume within 8 weeks and store upright. The 2023 US-importer sheet says decanting is not required.
Tasting Notes Herbal and floral aromas of pine resin, eucalyptus and rock rose, with rich black fruit; opulent blackberry and blackcurrant flavours followed by dark chocolate and mocha; concentrated and rounded, with balancing acidity and the structure and lifted aromas of a young Vintage Port.
Food Pairing Serve on its own at the end of a meal, or with rich dark-chocolate desserts or cheese.
