Production Details The Quinta de Nápoles vineyard was planted at 4,000 vines/ha, trained Guyot and Royat, and situated at 400–600 m. Grapes were hand-picked in September following an early, intensive and short harvest. Fermentation was temperature-controlled with minimal extraction; malolactic fermentation and 18 months of maturation occurred in older French oak barrels. It was bottled in March 2019. Producer measurements also report dry extract 26.80 g/dm³, volatile acidity 0.60 g/dm³, free SO2 at filling 19 mg/dm³, total SO2 74 mg/dm³ and density 0.9900 g/cm³.
Tasting Notes More concentrated colour than 2016; cherry and other red berries with tobacco and minty-green notes; lively, intense red-fruited palate with structured tannins; dry, spicy finish and long, lingering acidity.

Production Details The Quinta de Nápoles vineyard was planted on two-row patamares at 4,000 vines/ha, trained Guyot and Royat, and situated at 400–600 m. Grapes were hand-picked in September. The wine was made according to organic principles and certified organic in 2018. Fermentation was temperature-controlled with minimal extraction; malolactic fermentation and 22 months of maturation took place in older French oak barrels. It was bottled in May 2018. Producer measurements also report dry extract 23.50 g/dm³, volatile acidity 0.70 g/dm³, free SO2 at filling 30 mg/dm³, total SO2 127 mg/dm³ and density 0.9900 g/cm³.
Tasting Notes Light ruby colour; delicate fresh red fruit and characteristic vegetal aromas; crisp, lively and intense palate with red fruit, noticeable but well-integrated tannins, and a long finish.
Food Pairing Portuguese feijoada, rabbit, red meat, pulse-based or highly spiced dishes; vegetarian pairings include root vegetables, chickpeas, beans, peas and cheese.
