Production Details Selected grapes were hand-harvested into crates, manually laid on mats in Tenuta Tignanello's drying loft and dried naturally until the end of December. After gentle pressing, the must entered traditional caratelli made from various unnamed wood species, with capacities ranging from 50 to 200 litres. A long, slow alcoholic fermentation took place and was subsequently interrupted. The wine remained in caratelli for approximately three years before blending and bottling; the approximate duration is not converted to days.
Tasting Notes Golden with amber highlights; date, preserved peach, crème brûlée, cinnamon, chestnut flour, saffron, panettone, maple syrup and mandarin peel; broad and enveloping, fresh, savoury and long.
