Production Details The 2007 Lapio reserve is one of three separately bottled site expressions in the inaugural Lucio collector release. Its vineyard is above 600 m and is the latest-ripening of the three; the producer reports that ripening can occur as much as three weeks after the earliest Pietradefusi vineyard.
Tasting Notes Broad and intense bouquet; bramble fruit, ripe plum, violet, spice, Mediterranean scrub and mineral notes; elegant, soft tannins and a velvety, glyceric palate. The producer additionally characterizes the Lapio and Montemiletto wines as showing refined austerity in their tannins and describes all three site expressions as structured, powerful and long-lived.
