Production Details The 2007 was the first vintage selected for the three-wine Lucio project. Pietradefusi was the earliest-ripening of the three sites, with as much as three weeks' difference versus Lapio. The Pietradefusi wine spent two years in French-oak barriques followed by prolonged bottle maturation.
Tasting Notes Cecilia Pianigiani for WineNews, 2007 Pietradefusi release: intense garnet; black fruit led by plum jam; Mediterranean scrub, leather and coffee; creamy, full and velvety, with sweet tannin. The producer additionally characterizes Pietradefusi as the most elegant of the three Lucio expressions, while sharing structure, power and longevity.
