Production Details The producer sheet describes a 0.5 ha vineyard in the Samperi district of Marsala, planted at 3,500 vines/ha and trained cordon-spur/Guyot. Grillo is fermented with wild yeast in 500 L barrels and kept 12 months on its lees. Tirage combines multiple Grillo vintages with fresh must from the latest harvest and a small Vecchio Samperi addition, followed by 30 months on lees. The sheet also reports “acidity” of 7 g/L without specifying its analytical basis, so that figure is not mapped to total_acidity_gl.
Tasting Notes Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2024, 2021-labelled/2024-disgorged release: sliced peach, young mango, sweet spice, orchard fruit, salty minerals, sour lime and candied citrus; crystalline bubbles and a steely, clean finish.
