Production Details The vineyard is in the hills of Fulgatore, Trapani, at approximately 200 metres above sea level, on calcareous soil; vines are south-facing, vertically trellised and Guyot-pruned. Before harvest, half the grapes are cut and left to dry on the vine under the Sicilian sun, after which the whole parcel is harvested. Following destemming, the wine receives approximately 12 days of skin maceration and ferments for 15 days at 24–26°C in stainless steel. Part of the wine then matures for approximately six months in used 250-litre Gamba oak barriques. The recommended serving range is 14–15°C. The 2024 season had a mild, unusually rainy spring, a hot summer averaging 26°C, and northwesterly winds that helped preserve grape quality and varietal aromas.
Tasting Notes Dark ruby red with violet reflections; intense violet, black-cherry, vanilla and spice aromas; full-bodied, with intense red-fruit and plum flavours and a soft finish.
Food Pairing Steak or rich lasagna
