Production Details The 2020 growing season had a cool, rainy spring, followed by a warm but not excessive summer and favorable autumn harvest conditions. Grapes were hand-picked at full phenolic ripeness and remained with the skins for approximately 60 days. The wine matured for approximately 24 months in 225–2500 L oak vessels, followed by at least 12 months in bottle. The listing reports 5,000 vines/ha and a mass yield of 50 quintals/ha; it recommends serving at 16–18°C.
Tasting Notes Deep ruby with garnet reflections; wild blackberry, ripe cherry, plum, balsamic notes, wild herbs, black pepper and clove; powerful and full-bodied, with integrated tannins, freshness and a long, persistent finish.
Food Pairing Legume and grain soups; stuffed pasta with game ragout; roasted lamb or pork; braised meats; slow-cooked game; aged hard cheeses such as Pecorino or 36-month Parmigiano Reggiano.
