2021 Technical Specifications

Grape Varieties Montepulciano
Classification Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
Region Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Production Details The producer’s estate-wide 2021 account records budbreak on April 4, only 70 mm of rain between budbreak and harvest, and the driest season in twenty years. Grapes were picked before concentration through evaporation progressed further, protecting acidity and potential alcohol; the resulting wines retained tension and a saline character.
Tasting Notes Vinous described the 2021 release as dark and intense, with wet stone, sage, violets and crushed blackberry; a round, supple palate with ripe blackberry, sour citrus and herbs; saline minerality, fine-grained tannins and persistent primary concentration.
