Estate Grown Yes
Sites Estate Limonte vineyard at Rocchetta Tanaro, just under 2.5 hectares
Production Details The vineyard was planted in 2010 at 5,500 vines per hectare. After the first harvest for traditional Limonte, three bunches per vine remain for a vintage-dependent period of overripening; Limonte GB is then late-harvested. About 30% of the grapes are vinified as whole berries for 15 days. Malolactic fermentation occurs in cask, followed by one year of cask maturation and extended bottle ageing before the January 2025 release. The vintage-specific sheet recommends serving at approximately 16–18°C; a later generic 2026 producer catalogue recommends 14–16°C without assigning that range to a vintage.
Tasting Notes Garnet red; dried flowers, toasted notes, truffle and tobacco; dark fruit, liquorice, rhubarb and a delicate gentian finish; energetic tannin
Critics Ratings WineHunter Award Sigillo Oro
