Production Details The 2018 BB was produced from the Barbabecchi vineyard instead of Magma because the fruit did not reach the producer’s required Magma standard. The north/north-east-facing vineyard lies at 870–910 m and has ungrafted vines over 100 years old. Grapes were destemmed and lightly crushed; fermentation began with an indigenous-yeast pied-de-cuve and approximately 50 days of skin contact. Maturation comprised 18 months in neutral 1,500–2,500 L tanks followed by 18 months in bottle. The producer’s current profile gives an SO₂ range of 15–50 mg/L, with addition dependent on grape quality and wine stability.
