Production Details Producer-wide 2008 context, not established specifically for this cuvée: Giovanni Manetti described Fontodi's 2008 wines as higher in acidity and lower in alcohol than the 2007s; damp spring and early summer caused shatter and lower yields, the summer was cool, and the estate harvest began in late September.
Tasting Notes Antonio Galloni: sweet dark fruit, smoke, licorice, grilled herbs and high-toned floral notes, with mid-palate depth and balance. Monica Larner: dark fruit, cigar ash and scorched earth, with a rich, creamy, fleshy finish.
