Production Details Selected grapes underwent about 10 days of temperature-controlled fermentation in oak tini; the 2022 importer PDF specifies around 30°C and wild yeasts. Liberty’s vintage specification gives maturation as 50% in 30–50 hL Slavonian oak casks and 50% in 600 L tonneaux for about 18 months, followed by six months in bottle. The separate 2022 Vineyard Brands sheet instead calls the smaller vessels French oak barriques and states up to 18 months, so the smaller-vessel format and duration wording conflict. The wine was released in its second year and the recommended serving range is 18–20°C. The vintage was early and exceptionally dry, with small clusters and low production; cooler nights near harvest helped preserve aroma and acidity.
Tasting Notes Deep purple; plum, tobacco, spice and liquorice; spiced plum and damson; full-bodied, supple and persistent
Food Pairing Fresh egg pasta with rich sauces; boiled meats; meat stews; medium-mature cow’s-milk cheeses
