Production Details Selected high-altitude, east-facing vineyard sources with calcareous-clay soils supplied the fruit. Vinification involved both whole clusters and destemmed fruit. Alcoholic fermentation took place for three weeks in stainless-steel tanks in contact with the skins, with regular pump-overs; this included cold pre- and post-fermentation maceration and the traditional submerged-cap method. Malolactic fermentation occurred in oak/barrel, followed by approximately 30 months in large oak casks.
Tasting Notes Medium-intense ruby red; forest underbrush, ripe cherry, blackberry, prune and fig with balsamic nuances; medium-bodied, rich and powerful, with integrated tannins, lively acidity, balance and a long aftertaste.

Production Details The 2016 wine came from a selected Serralunga d’Alba vineyard planted to Guyot-trained vines at about 4,500 plants per hectare. Grapes were hand harvested. Part of the fruit underwent whole-grape vinification; the remainder was destemmed, crushed and transferred to stainless-steel tanks. Following cold pre-fermentation maceration, alcoholic fermentation continued with regular pump-overs for approximately 20 days. Malolactic fermentation took place in wood, followed by approximately 24 months in large oak barrels.
Tasting Notes Intense ruby red; ripe small red fruits with balsamic and citrus nuances; medium-bodied, rich, full and elegant, with integrated Serralunga tannins, a sweet finish and vibrant acidity.
