Production Details Grapes were harvested by hand from selected individual Monfalletto vineyards. Maceration lasted 4–5 days in stainless steel, followed by 10–12 days of fermentation. The wine was transferred to barrels of different sizes and types for malolactic fermentation through December, matured for 18–22 months in French and Slovenian oak, then blended and bottled; release followed after one year. The producer's current wine page adds that Monfalletto generally combines its La Morra plots except small selections reserved for Gattera and Gorette, with plots harvested separately and lots following separate vinification and wood-ageing paths until the final bottling blend.
Tasting Notes Intense garnet colour; floral and spicy aromas with tobacco, cherry, cocoa and fresh raspberry; rich, full-bodied and elegant palate.
