2024 Technical Specifications

Grape Varieties Merlot: two-thirds; Petit Verdot: described as a high proportion; remaining blend not specified.
Region Saint-Estephe
Harvest Dates Merlot: 26 September–1 October 2024; Cabernet Franc: 30 September 2024; Petit Verdot: 1–3 October 2024; Cabernet Sauvignon: 1–7 October 2024.
Production Details The estate reports that 2024 achieved organic-agriculture certification. A wet winter and spring brought severe downy-mildew pressure; heavy May rain caused coulure and reduced yields, while a drier summer aided ripening.
Tasting Notes Depth, generosity, density, freshness, complexity and structure.

2023 Technical Specifications

Alcohol 12.9%
pH 3.81
Grape Varieties 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc
Region Saint-Estephe
Harvest Dates 18 September–5 October 2023
Production Details Maturation used 33% new oak. The finished-wine analysis table also reports total acidity as 3.2, but it prints neither a unit nor an acid-equivalent basis, so the figure is not proposed as unqualified total_acidity_gl.
Tasting Notes Crunchy and juicy Merlot; deep, dense Cabernet character; fresh, generous and long.

2022 Technical Specifications

Grape Varieties 52% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot
Classification Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel
Region Saint-Estephe
Soil Gravel and clay over a limestone base
Production Details Hand harvested, followed by manual sorting of bunches and then berries. The fruit underwent gravity vatting without crushing/pressing, pre-fermentation cold maceration, an extended vatting period and rack-and-return extraction. Maturation used 33% new oak.
Tasting Notes Dark fruit, violets and spices; rich and balanced, round and taut, with silky soft tannins.

2021 Technical Specifications

Alcohol 12.93%
pH 3.88
Grape Varieties 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc
Region Saint-Estephe
Harvest Dates 28 September–8 October 2021
Production Details Maturation used 30% new-oak barrels. The technical table also reports acidity as 3.4 and IPT as 66; because no acidity unit or acid-equivalent basis is printed, 3.4 is not proposed as unqualified total_acidity_gl.
Tasting Notes Fresh fruit, incense and bitter cocoa; ample and velvety, fine and structured, with Cabernet-supported framing.

2020 Technical Specifications

Grape Varieties 59% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc
Region Saint-Estephe
Production Details The élevage specification states 40% new oak and separately states that 20% was in 400-liter barrels; it also records trials in jars and amphorae intended to preserve fruit brightness. The vintage was the estate's first year of conversion to organic agriculture.

2019 Technical Specifications

Alcohol 13.73%
pH 3.84
Grape Varieties 59% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc
Classification Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel
Region Saint-Estephe
Soil Peyrosols and clay-limestone soils
Harvest Dates 25 September–9 October 2019
Production Details Hand harvested with manual sorting first by bunch and then by berry. Vinification used gravity vatting with light crushing, pre-fermentation cold maceration and gentle extraction by gravity rack-and-return. The sheet reports total acidity as 3.10 g/L but does not identify the acid-equivalent basis, so it is not proposed as unqualified total_acidity_gl.

2016 Technical Specifications

Alcohol 13.6%
pH 3.67
Grape Varieties 62% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot
Classification Château Lilian Ladouys, Saint-Estèphe estate wine
Region Saint-Estephe
Soil Peyrosols, Clay and limestone
Harvest Dates 3–17 October 2016
Vine Age 35
Maceration 28 days
Production Details Sorted, uncrushed whole berries were gravity-fed into tanks. Cold pre-fermentation maceration and gravity discharge into semi-buried vats provided gentle extraction; délestage was performed at the end of fermentation, and 30% new barrels were used. The finished-wine analysis also gives total acidity as 3.5 g/L expressed as H2SO4 equivalent; that basis-specific value is deliberately not proposed as unqualified total_acidity_gl.
Tasting Notes Deep garnet with violet hues; crushed raspberry, brandied cherry, bitter cocoa, flowers, cedar and sandalwood; ample, dense and velvety, with orange peel, chocolate, nutmeg and chalky tannins.
