Production Details For the 2022 growing season, 33.3 ha across 43 plots were productive, 3.3 ha across 6 plots were fallow, and 2.5 ha across 5 plots held young vines; estate plantings were 41% Merlot, 54% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes were vinified plot by plot using estate-selected indigenous yeasts, gentle extraction, manual pump-overs and one délestage during four weeks of maceration. Malolactic fermentation occurred in vats. The wine then matured for 16 months in 100% new barrels. Château Cheval Blanc accounted for 78% of the estate’s 2022 wine, with 22% designated bulk wine. The finished-wine export analysis measured 14.00% vol. alcohol, while the label declared 13.5%; total acidity was 2.87 g/L expressed as H2SO4 equivalent.
