2021 Technical Specifications

Grape Varieties 100% Pinot Noir
Drinking Window 2036 onward
Region Richebourg
Closure Cork
Production Details Domaine-wide 2021 context, not a Richebourg-specific analysis: picking ran from 22–25 September; average yield was approximately 20 hl/ha; potential alcohol at harvest was about 13%; post-malolactic pH across the wines ranged from 3.58 to 3.60. The same source says the winery may retain up to 20% stems when vintage and appellation conditions allow, but does not establish the actual Richebourg stem proportion.
Tasting Notes William Kelley, The Wine Advocate, 2021 release: dark berries, cherries, orange zest, sweet spices, rose petals and licorice; rich, layered and muscular, with ripe tannins, lively acidity and a long finish.

2020 Technical Specifications

Drinking Window 2040–2100+
Region Richebourg
Production Details Domaine-wide 2020 context: harvest began 28 August and all bunches were collected over three days; parcels yielded 25–35 hl/ha; wines were reported at 13–13.5% alcohol; malolactic conversion was slow. At the 7 December cellar visit, the wines had not yet been racked and were resting on fine lees in their original casks.
Tasting Notes John Gilman, barrel tasting reported in the November–December 2021 issue: reserved aromas of black plums, dark berries, venison, soil, woodsmoke, coffee bean and nutty new oak; deep, full-bodied palate with integrated tannins, bright acidity, focus and a long finish.
