Production Details Grapes were handpicked early; this was the first Côte de Nuits plot harvested. After sorting at the winery, the entire harvest was destemmed. Indigenous-yeast fermentation was supported by daily punch-downs and followed by maceration, bringing total vatting time to 20 days. The wine was aged for 15 months in very finely grained barrels, with 25% new, very lightly toasted oak from forests in Central France.
Tasting Notes Deep, nearly black colour with purplish-blue tones; cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, fruit sabayon, fruit jellies and iris; beeswax, tobacco, mocha coffee and Black Forest cake; full, complex and robust palate with minty freshness, acidity, Mexican orange blossom and integrated oak.

Production Details Grapes were handpicked early in the harvest season; this was the first Côte de Nuits plot harvested. Careful sorting retained the finest bunches, with 30% whole bunches. Indigenous-yeast fermentation was followed by maceration, for 20 days of total vatting. The wine was aged for 15 months in barrel, with 40% new oak. The exact-vintage IWSC entry categorizes the wine as dry with residual sugar below 5 g/L; this bound is not proposed as an exact residual-sugar value.
Tasting Notes Concentrated velvety black colour; black cherry, carnation, tulip, heather, chocolate-coated cherry, cumin, turmeric, liquorice, elegant oak and salinity; powerful palate with acidity, dense tannins, roasted notes, cocoa, white pepper and stone.
