Production Details The P cuvée came from the Puligny side of Montrachet; the companion C cuvée came from the Chassagne side. At the critic's February visit, none of the 2009 whites had been racked and no SO2 had been added. The wines retained noticeable residual CO2, and decanting was recommended. A separate producer-hosted report describes extended lees aging with minimal sulfur and says the 2009 wines still had never been racked when tasted in late June 2011.
Tasting Notes Burghound's review describes flowers, citrus, spiced pear, apricot and white peach, followed by rich, full, muscular flavors, abundant dry extract, intensity and a balanced finish.

Production Details This separately bottled P version came from the Puligny-side barrel. David Schildknecht's barrel-stage account says malolactic fermentation did not begin until the wine was one year old and remained incomplete, or at least not gas-free, when tasted the following spring; the decision to bottle the Puligny and Chassagne barrels separately was made very late.
Tasting Notes In the barrel-stage account, David Schildknecht described honeyed quince-preserve richness; he said the two Montrachet components shared purity of sweet fruit and liquid perfume, with anticipated chalky and saline mineral character.
