2011 Technical Specifications

Grape Varieties 100% Pinot Noir
Classification Extra-Brut
Region Mareuil-sur-Ay
Soil Chalky bedrock very close to the surface

Fermentation Vessels Wooden barrels for 80% of the wine
Dosage 4.25 g/L
Production Details Only four of the Clos des Goisses vineyard's 14 plots were selected. The blend was entirely Pinot Noir because Chardonnay vines in certain plots had been uprooted before 2011 and the year's Pinot Noir showed an atypically floral profile. The wine was 80% vinified in wooden barrels without malolactic fermentation and aged for at least eight years at 12°C.
Tasting Notes Bright gold with persistent bead; elderflower, Darjeeling tea, linden honey and mint; expressive palate with tea and black pepper; long mineral finish.
