2023 Technical Specifications

Region Moulin-a-Vent
Tasting Notes A nose of bulb, root and tuberose likened by the producer to a great Barolo; the same perfume carries onto an exceptionally juicy, full palate with finely drawn tannins and unusually clear flavor expression. The producer also relates the vintage’s finesse and freshness to 2021 and its structure and depth to 2022.

2020 Technical Specifications

Region Moulin-a-Vent
Tasting Notes The producer describes great balance, seductive perfume, supple and velvety texture, and fine tannins. Bill Nanson’s quoted release note describes an especially velvety wine with a complex, airy, fresh and increasingly floral nose, a direct but broad palate, and an explosive, lingering finish.

2018 Technical Specifications

Region Moulin-a-Vent
Tasting Notes Tannic and shaped by a sunny year; slow to come together but gradually refining in bottle. The producer advises that the single-parcel wines still require patience.

2014 Technical Specifications

Region Moulin-a-Vent
Soil Granite hillside rich in quartz
Vineyard Yield 20 hL/ha
Vine Age More than 90 years
Fermentation Vessels Open-topped wooden tanks
Pressing Method Vertical Pressing
Carbonic Maceration Yes
Production Details Grapes were sorted before whole-cluster, classic semi-carbonic fermentation in open-topped wooden tanks and vertical pressing. The wine matured for 24 months, divided equally between tank and old demi-muids. The one-hectare parcel was planted at 13,000 vines per hectare.
Tasting Notes The producer characterizes 2014 as a classic, precise and terroir-typical vintage without thinness, accessible but capable of continued aging. Bill Nanson’s 10 May 2017 tasting found deeper but transparent colour, a tight and faintly reductive nose, and an energetic, fresh, broad and complex palate with additional tannin; air revealed chocolate, floral accents and shiny black-cherry fruit.
