Production Details The 2022 wine was made with 100% whole clusters. The estate Pinot Noir method presented on its exact-release page includes foot-treading in wooden vats, spontaneous fermentation, sparing sulfur use only at bottling, about one year in used barrels, and bottling without fining or filtration. The merchant also notes increasing use of 600-L demi-muids instead of barriques. The producer identifies the source as a 0.60-ha parcel planted in 1973 on the right bank of the Rhoin.
Tasting Notes James Suckling: wild berries, savory herbs, white pepper, agave, pickled fruit and fine spices, with very fine tannins and integrated stem character. Heiner Lobenberg: cassis, charcoal, blackberry, woodland strawberry, tobacco and cedar, with firm structure. Antonio Galloni: blueberry, bilberry and wild heather, fine-grained tannins, flesh and strong grip.
