2012 Technical Specifications
Classification Premier Cru
Region Le Clos Micot
Production Details Producer-wide 2012 élevage context reported alongside the exact Clos Micot entry: purchased barrels were kept in the cold upper cellar during winter and early spring to delay malolactic fermentation; malolactic fermentations began near the end of June and mostly finished near the end of August; nothing had been racked by the November barrel tasting. A second producer-hosted report describes cold-cellar, minimal-intervention élevage intended to maximize time on the lees.
Tasting Notes Antonio Galloni described the barrel sample as round, voluptuous and resonant, with dark-red and black fruit, cola, spices and licorice leading to a supple, inviting finish. Stephen Tanzer described smoky redcurrant and raspberry aromas, followed by a dense, savory, concentrated palate with black cherry, substantial tannins and youthful dryness.
